An Evening of Stories and Songs at The Ridgefield Library

Join the ghosts of Kerouac, Ginsberg, Burroghs and the like as the Ridgefield Writers Guild hosts their second literary event at the Ridgefield Library on Sat, Mar 5, from 7-9 PM.

Writers, poets and musicians invite you to sip coffee and recall an era that revolutionized American culture and transformed future generations with literary standards that resonated to a different Beat.

New works by Ridgefield Writers Guild members, including satirist Lauren Salkin and memoirist Aurora Cancino Lopez, as well as award-winning author Linda Merlino and writer Adele Annesi, who will read from their novels in progress.

Also featured is guest poet Doris Henderson and other guest writers from our friends in New York.

Feel free to dress in tune with the Beatnik generation!

Peter Selgin

Peter's stories and essays have appeared in dozens of literary magazines, and he is the author of By Cunning & Craft: Sound Advice and Practical Wisdom for Fiction Writers, and articles for Poets & Writers Magazine.

Cortney Davis

Cortney's poetry collection Leopold’s Maneuvers won the Prairie Schooner Book Prize. Her poems appear in various literary journals, and she is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee.

Doris Henderson

Doris' poems have appeared in various literary journals, and she is a Pushcart Prize nominee. Doris is also president of the Danbury area chapter of the Connecticut Poetry Society.

Patricia D'Ascoli

Patricia is an author, and the writer and publisher of the prestigious "Connecticut Muse." She is also a feature writer for area newspapers.

Shawn M. Casey

Shawn is an award-winning author of mainstream fiction and mystery.
